Am I eligible for a BNO visa?
To be eligible for a BNO visa, you must be 18 or older, have British national (overseas) status or be the child of a British national (overseas) who was born on or after 1st July 1997. In addition, your permanent home must be either in Hong Kong or in the UK, Channel Islands, Isle of Man or Hong Kong. Your family members will also be eligible for a BNO visa as your dependant; this may include your spouse, unmarried partner, child or grandchild under 18, or your partner’s child under 18. It is also possible for your parent, grandparent, brother, sister, son or daughter (18 or older) to join you, but they must live with you and be dependent on you because of illness, disability or age.
How much does it cost to apply for a BNO visa?
There are two fees payable when applying for a BNO visa: the application fee and the healthcare surcharge. The application fee is currently £180 if applying for 2 years and 6 months or £250 if applying for 5 years. The healthcare surcharge for adults is currently £1,560 (for visas of 2 years and 6 months) and £3,120 (for visas of 5 years). The healthcare surcharge for children under 18) is £1,175 and £2,350, respectively
