Am I eligible for an India Young Professionals Scheme visa?
You will be able to apply for a UK India Young Professionals Scheme visa if you:
- Are an Indian national or citizen aged between 18 and 30 years
- Are 18 years or over when you travel to the UK, and
- Have a qualification at UK bachelor’s degree level qualification or above – i.e. RQF 6, 7 or 8) or an equivalent overseas qualification at degree level or above, and
- have £2,530 in savings (this must have been in your bank for 28 consecutive days).
In addition, the Home Office will want to be satisfied that you do not have children under 18 who live with you or for whom you are financially responsible
How do I apply for an India Young Professionals Scheme visa?
Unlike a normal visa, you have to enter a pool of potential applicants (called a “ballot) and be selected before you can apply. The main steps you will need to complete are as follows:
- 1. Check your eligibility for the India Young Professionals Scheme ballot
- 2. Enter the India Young Professionals Scheme ballot
- 3. Wait to be selected from the ballot - If selected, the Home Office will send you an invitation to apply for the visa
- 4. Gather any of the evidence you will need to support your application (e.g. your bank statement showing your savings and your degree certificate).
- 5. Apply for your India Young Professionals Scheme visa online
- 6. Pay the application fee of £298 and the healthcare surcharge of £940
- 7. Book and attend an appointment as a Visa Application Centre or use the use the ‘UK Immigration: ID Check’ app (you will be advised which option to use)
